Anxiety sounds like something related to tension, or fear, or worries, or, or, or. There is no end to how people could describe or relate any condition to anxiety. Some take it too seriously as if it is some kind of mental disorder. Yes, it could be if not taken care of in the early stages.
I, myself have been a victim of anxiety attacks, without me knowing about it. Strange. Yes, it is.
And the weird thing is, that I am dealing with anxiety attacks for a long time, but I used to take it as if it is just some kind of tension caused due to some reason. Recently, I noticed that I get anxiety attacks after my friend found out about this thing. And I came to know about this after and while I was recovering from my post-covid symptoms.
Now, what happens to me, when I feel anxiety. The first sentence that comes out is, " Kuch acha ni lagra", taking my mom to another level where she starts feeling that I am very much sick and I need to see a doctor soon and get on medications, without even caring or knowing "ki kyu acha ni lagra". Uhh!
Then I start investigating within my mind about what could be the reason, whether I had a fight with my sibling, or my favorite person is not replying, or I didn't get permission to order a pizza. Just kidding!!! This could be never the reason for getting anxiety. And if you are dealing with anxiety due to any of such reasons, then that is not anxiety but you need to see a doctor for relating these reasons to anxiety.
Sometimes, I don't feel like talking to anyone, not even wanting to eat and sleep, not willing to watch TV or even use my phone. Rarely, it happens that I feel restlessness, my hands shiver and my body temperature freezes. The additional symptom that has been added up after recovering from Covid is breathlessness. I mostly get anxious when I overthink any situation or person. However, it is not like I overthought something, and instantly I got an anxiety attack. No, it is not like that. It takes time as if few minutes to few hours. It varies from person to person.
Whatever it is, overcoming anything is difficult. Do yoga, meditation, go for walk, talk to a friend, watch stand-up comedies, and many more. Everyone is ready with a long list of methods that can help you in overcoming anxiety, according to them. But, what you are feeling and how you are dealing with it, will let you find a way of overcoming it. Above mentioned ways, have rarely helped me in overcoming my anxiety attacks. But that doesn't mean that it won't help you. It might work for you. You never know.
For me, when I feel anxiety, my way to deal with it is," Just sit, relax, and do what you are willing to do at that very moment". If I want to sit alone for some time, I will just go and sit alone. After some time, I would feel like doing something else, whatever strikes in my mind. It could be calling up a dearest friend, oiling and combing my hair, staring at the wall, thinking about why I said something to someone two years ago, or just sleep. I know these are some kind of weird ways to overcome anxiety, but they do work for me.
You have to find out the reason due to which you get anxiety. And then only you could find out the way to deal with it. And then you will overcome it. So, other people's suggestions don't work most of the time and free advice doesn't work at all. You can try my kind of solutions, but I am not sure that they will work for you. So, do what you are willing to do, to overcome your anxiety.
Stay happy and safe.
Lots Of Love
